•Family Birth Class - A six-week series of classes designed for first-time
moms and their partners. Participants are encouraged to start the series no later
than the 27th week of pregnancy and be sure to attend all six two-hour classes.
Topics include relaxation and pain-coping techniques, what to expect at the
hospital and basic baby care. A moderate fee is charged for all six classes.
•One More Time! - A two-session refresher course for expectant couples who
have previously given birth. Classes are held six times a year and focus on
practicing the skills that can help during labor. A small fee is charged for both
•Breastfeeding Works! - A three-hour breastfeeding class held on the second
Saturday of every month. A YRMC lactation consultant teaches new moms how
to have a successful and rewarding breastfeeding experience. There is no charge.
